Welcome to Parkway Animal Hospital, a full-service facility providing the finest professional health care for your pet.
The healthcare staff at this hospital provides your pet with the highest quality care and you with peace of mind. Parkway Animal Hospital has served the growing Cary/Apex area since 1989 and has become a referral practice for other practitioners in the Triangle area.
Staff veterinarians are members of several professional groups, including the American Veterinary Medical Association.
We are a state-of-the-art, full service hospital offering preventative medicine and consultation, nutritional counseling, routine check-ups, dermatology/allergy screens, LASER surgical procedures, Digital x-ray/radiology and ultrasound, orthopedics, dentistry with digital x-ray, root canals and dental restorations, house calls, and an in-house laboratory. In addition, veterinary specialists are contracted to provide additional on-site services (cardiology, etc). The hospital also provides grooming, boarding, day care, puppy training classes, dietary products, and pet supplies.
We suggest that animals be kept on a leash, in a pet carrier, or held in your arms before entering the waiting area. We will provide a complimentary leash upon request.
If you think your pet might have a contagious disease, please call ahead with details, as we may suggest special handling upon arrival.
We encourage you to call our office with any questions regarding the care of your pet or any animal-based public health concern. We'll be glad to refer to your pet's files to provide current healthcare information.
Our normal business hours are:
Mon/Tues/Thurs/Fri 7:30 am - 5:30 pm
Wednesday 7:30 am - 7:00 pm
Saturday 8:00 am - 1:00 pm
Parkway Animal Hospital typically schedules 20to 30 minute appointments with the veterinarian. This extended appointment schedule allows our staff to conduct thorough medical examinations of your pet and to interpret results of any required laboratory tests for you.
To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures we operate primarily by appointment, but walk-ins are welcome (subject to availability). Emergencies are given immediate attention and are given the highest priority.
Like humans, pets do not synchronize their illness with an appointment schedule, and surgical procedures sometimes take longer than planned; therefore, an occasional appointment delay is possible. Please realize that we make a sincere effort to see each client on time. A phone call is appreciated by all if an appointment needs to be rescheduled.
Emergency service is available on a 7-day, 24-hour basis. The medical staff is available during normal business hours. Call the hospital (919 460-0741) for information.
When your pet is in need of urgent care AFTER HOURS, you will be referred to our Animal Emergency Clinic of Cary at 220 High House Road. The urgent care medical team at that facility can be reached after normal business hours and on holidays at 919 462-8989. The map below details the location of our urgent care facility.
Parkway Animal Hospital and the Animal Emergency Clinic of Cary share common owners. Routine animal care, however, should be scheduled for normal business hours at Parkway Animal Hospital.
Reservations are required for boarding, daycare, and grooming which we provide as services to our clients. For the safety of all pets in our care we require that all vaccinations be up-to-date. Animals requiring veterinary attention (examples: flea control/worming, etc) will be treated as necessary at the owner's expense.
Holiday and popular vacation periods place high demand on these services. You are requested to book your appointments well in advance to insure availability. A deposit may be required.
All pets are discharged during normal business hours Monday - Saturday. Check-out time is 3:30 pm Monday - Friday and at noon on Saturdays. Late check-out is available.
Payment is expected at the time services are rendered. We accept cash, personal checks, Credit and Debit, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, and Discover.
We deliver premium medical care and client education at fees that are periodically reviewed to insure they are fair and reasonable compared to regional industry data. You are encouraged to discuss charges before services are rendered. We also recommend pet insurance because it makes health care costs more predictable and provides you with greater freedom selecting recommended medical procedures.
