Parkway Animal Hospital's

Endoscopy, Digital Radiology & Ultrasound

Endoscopy

High-tech fiber optics permits direct visual examination and biopsies of your pet’s gastrointestinal system. This allows for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of oral, esophageal, stomach, colon and even upper intestinal tract disease. Foreign objects can also be removed without the need for surgery.

Bronchoscopy

High-tech fiber optics permits direct visual examination of your pet’s respiratory system. This allows for more accurate diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the nasal cavity, trachea and lungs.

Digital Radiology

The digital radiology – or x-rays – taken on site at Parkway Animal Hospital enables us to take fewer x-rays, but provides our veterinarians with more information. The digital technology means the results are available faster, and can be electronically evaluated to provide us with more detailed results. Digital x-rays help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular (cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems. Many pets can have x-rays taken without sedation or anesthesia, however some views require total relaxation and/or painful positioning. Back, hip, and shoulder x-rays almost always need deep sedation or anesthesia. And some pets are wiggly and uncooperative for the weird positions we may need! We want to keep your pet comfortable, safe, and unworried! For these reasons we may ask that you allow us to decide if your pet needs sedation or anesthesia

Ultrasound

This non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Our veterinarians can often perform an ultrasound on your pet within 2 days, and the procedure is performed here in the hospital. Most pets need no sedation for ultrasound; and you are welcome to be present and ask any questions you may have. Pregnancy exams are also available.
