Some pets experience anxiety when being moved from the comfort of their home and into the car (or carrier) for their trip to the veterinarian. Parkway Animal Hospital endeavors to make each pet comfortable during each visit to the hospital. We have a variety of options to help relieve any stress to the pet. In addition, we have a number of tips that you might find helpful as you prepare your pet for an office visit. Managing a pet’s anxiety is important to performing a representative physical examination. We may recommend a non-sedating anxiety chew, making a dry-run visit with your pet to make them feel more comfortable, or we may spend time in the exam room allowing the pet to get comfortable prior to starting the physical exam.
